Dr. Anna Sher, MD, PhD, is the Senior Director in Clinical Pharmacology and Modeling and Simulation within Precision Medicine at GSK. In this role, she leads a team in Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) and Toxicology (QST) efforts across a diverse range of therapeutic areas, including Vaccines, Infectious Diseases, Respiratory, Immunology, Neuroscience, Hepatology, Connective Tissue Disorders, and Emerging Therapies.
Anna finished a joint BSc in Physiology and Mathematics at McGill University (Canada). Dr Sher holds an MSc and a DPhil (PhD equivalent) in Computational Biology from the University of Oxford, as well as MBBS (MD equivalent) from Imperial College London Medical School. Anna continued her research at the University of Oxford with Prof Denis Noble as part of the EU preDICT project, where she developed mathematical models of drug action in ventricular electrophysiology to assess pro-arrhythmic risk at the whole heart level. She also gained clinical experience as a Junior Doctor at the Royal Free Hospital in London, UK. Prior to joining GSK, Dr. Sher led cardiometabolic and hyperinsulinemia modeling efforts at Pfizer, supporting drug discovery and development programs at both preclinical and clinical stages.
